Gilles Millet

Gilles Millett took second prize in the International Bach Competition in Paris in 1986 and the following year began to study at the Paris Conservatoire. He graduated in 1991, his teacher having been Régis Pasquier. He has been Professor of Violin at the Lyon Conservatoire and at the Orpheus Institute in Ghent. Currently he teaches in Amsterdam at the Netherlands StringQuartet Academy and in Belgium at the Namur Music Institute. Millet also teaches regularly in other places in Europe, the United States and Asia. He plays with the Danel Quartet, which tours the world giving more than 80 concerts each year and has appeared at Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, London's Wigmore Hall, the Bozar arts centre in Brussels, Tokyo's Suntory Hall, New York's Frick Collection, and the Philharmonie de Paris. The Danels also regularly appear at well-known chamber music festivals and they collaborate closely with several ensembles, soloists and composers.
