Anna Caroline Olesen
Anna Caroline Olesen, mezzo-soprano, graduated from the Syddansk Musikkonservatorium where she studied with Henriette Bonde-Hansen. She has performed numerous solo parts in oratorios and masses at concerts both in Denmark and abroad, including as a soloist in Mozart’s Mass in C minor with the Danish Chamber Orchestra.
Anna is a permanent member of the DR Concert Choir. In addition to assisting with leading ensembles in Denmark—such as the DR Vocal Ensemble and Theatre of Voices—she has also sung several times with the German soloist ensemble Phønix16, which specializes in contemporary music, including performances at the festivals Documenta in Athens and MaerzMusik in Berlin.
Anna has a particular interest in contemporary vocal music. She frequently includes Luciano Berio’s major a cappella work Sequenza III in her repertoire, and she currently stars in the production GULD, a newly composed children’s opera by Dutch composer Leonard Evers, staged by Kind of Opera.
In addition to singing with Vor Frue Kantori, Anna is employed as a singer at Rigshospitalet, where she leads Morning Song sessions every week.
