Alexander Sitkovetsky

Alexander Sitkovetsky was born in Moscow and studied violin with Natalia Boyarsky and Hu Kun. He is currently studying with Pavel Vernikov and has also been accepted for a Further Masters Programme in Kronberg, where he is taking lessons with Anna Chumachenko. Sitkovetsky is in demand as a performer, both as a soloist and player of chamber music. He has appeared as soloist with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. In the past few years, he has played at many festivals, and has performed chamber music with Mischa Maisky, Bella Davidovich, Julian Rachlin and Janine Jansen, among others. Aleksandr Sitkovetsky has recorded works by Bach and Takemitsu, and most recently, the Mendelssohn Double Violin Concerto with Dinorah Varsi and the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and the Bach Double Violin Concerto with Julia Fischer and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields.
