Bålder Quartet
Emil Hartikainen, violin Vadim Grumeza, violin Matthias Funke, viola Tommi Wesslund, cello The Bålder Quartet was founded in 2018 when its members were students in Helsinki. That same year they won the Florida Keys International Chamber Music Competition and later made their debut at Carnegie Hall. They were invited to perform at Vienna’s prestigious Mozarthaus in April 2019. Membership of the Kuhmo Quartet Academy was a step in the right direction for them, offering opportunities for further training. The four are currently widening their horizons to add interest and zest to their repertoire, although the classic string quartet works are still central to their endeavours.Programme
