Benoit de Barsony

French-born Benoit de Barsony was born in Toulon, France, and began playing the French horn when he was nine. Having studied first in Lyon, he became a pupil of André Cazalet at the Paris Conservatory. In 2005 he graduated with distinction and began as principal French horn with the French National Orchestra. He then held the same position in the Ochestre de Paris under Christoph Eschenbach. Benoit de Barsony is a keen chamber musician who has appeared at many festivals in France and abroad. He has collaborated with such prominent musicians as Emmanuel Pahud, Paul Meyer and Guy Braunstein, though he is also in demand as a concert soloist, performing, for example, with the Orchestre de Paris, the Geneva Chamber Orchestra and the orchestra based in Avignon, France.
