Having grown up in a musical environment, playing the violin for Gwendolyn Masin has been as natural as talking since she was a child. When she was just five she went on tour performing in major concert halls. She still travels around the globe giving concerts, both as soloist with orchestra and in chamber ensembles. She graduated from London’s Royal School of Music, the University of the Arts Bern and Musikhochschule Lübeck and she holds a doctorate from Trinity College in Dublin. Masin works closely with composers and other artists, commissions works and is Artistic Director of the Swiss GAIA Festival. Apart from being a musician and researcher, Gwendolyn Masin has published a book for beginner violinists. At present she is Professor of Violin at the University of Music in Geneva and tours Europe and North America giving masterclasses.
