Khoa-Nam Nguyen

Khoa-Nam Nguyen was born in Rennes, France, where he started violin lessons at the age of six. Having graduated from music college in his home town he went to study at the Conservatoire de Paris under Sylvie Gazeau and Philippe Graffin. Having obtained his degree, Nguyen went on a student exchange programme to the Sibelius Academy to study with Mari Tampere-Bezrodny, which he continues to do today. Since 2014 Nguyen has played with the Orchestre national de France and has been a trainee with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. All the while, however, he has been a regular performer of chamber music. He has played in several ensembles at many festivals and has, accordingly, received guidance from such musicians as Miguel Da Silva, the members of the Ebène Quartet, Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Ilmo Ranta. The Meyer Foundation has provided support for Khoa-Nam Nguyen’s studies, and he plays a violin made by Charles Coquet in 2014. Nguyen is in the Young Chamber Musicians programme.
