Martti Anttila

Martti Anttila (born. 1980) gained a master’s degree in music at the Sibelius Academy, where he studied singing under Timo Honkonen. He went on to study in masterclasses given by Howard Crook and Rufus Müller. Anttila has performed as soloist with the Finnish Baroque Orchestra, Helsinki Baroque Orchestra, Helsinki Chamber Choir and the Musicians of the King’s Road. He has also sung in the Finnish Radio Chamber Choir, the Helsinki Chamber choir and the Choir of Trinity Wall Street in New York. He is also a founder member of the The English Vocal Consort of Helsinki, which specialises in the English Renaissance. During his career as an ensemble singer he has given the first performances of works by ten composers. Anttila has appeared at the Finnish National Opera in the children’s opera Papa Bach and in Wagner’s Die Meistersinger. He has also been a director of a choir, and his compositions for choir and solo voice have been published by Sulasol. Martti Anttila is also a teacher of singing and a concert promoter and enjoys composing for film.
