Nikita Boriso-Glebsky

Nikita Boriso-Glebsky is from Volgodonsk in southern Russia and is particularly well known in Finland as the winner of the Jean Sibelius Violin Competition in 2010, having also achieved success in the Tchaikovsky, Queen Elizabeth and many other competitions. Currently, Boriso-Glebsky is touring the world giving concerts and recitals and appearing as soloist with leading orchestras, such as the National Orchestra of Belgium, São Paulo Symphony Orchestra, China National Symphony Orchestra, Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and Sinfonia Lahti. In 2011 Boriso-Glebsky was awarded the Sibelius Society of Hämeenlinna ‘birth place’ medal. He is co-founder of the Rubik Ensemble, which sets out to celebrate the chamber music heritage by putting on concerts of music for groups of various sizes, including duets. Nikita Boriso-Glebsky has recorded the music of Vieuxtemps and Lalo. He plays an instrument built by Matteo Goffriller in the period 1720–1730.
