Qian Wu

UK newspaper The Independent mentioned Wu Qian in 2007 as a bright young star. She has performed at many venues around the world, including London’s Wigmore Hall, Hong Kong’s City Hall, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and Washington’s Kennedy Center. She has performed as soloist with many orchestras, such as the Konzerthaus Berlin orchestra, the Münich Symphony Orchestra and the European Union Chamber Orchestra. Wu Qian is winner of the Trio di Trieste Duo Competition and Frankfurt’s Commerzbank Piano Trio Competition, as well as many other contests. Her debut recording was well received, comprising, as it did, music by Schumann and Liszt, and her next disc is devoted to works by Schumann and is released this year. Wu Qian is also founder member of the Sitkovetsky Piano Trio, which appears regularly all over the world and has also recorded a disc of piano trios by Dvořák, Smetana and Suk.
