Soo-Hyun Park

Soo-Hyun Park grew up in Vienna and began playing the violin when she was seven years old. She was awarded the Edmond de Rothschild Group prize at the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad festival in Switzerland, and her debut recording received excellent reviews in BBC Music Magazine and Gramophone. Soo-Hyun Park has also seen success in many competitions. She came fourth and took the prize for best interpretation of Danish music in the Carl Nielsen International Competition, came third playing with the Abel Quartet in the Geneva Competition, won first prize in the International Johannes Brahms Competition chamber music section and second prize in the solo section, received the special prize in the International Fritz Kreisler Competition, came third and won the special prize for youngest finalist in the International Brescia Violin Competition, and took the Valsesia-Viotti prize in the International Viotti Violin Competition. Soo-Hyun Park has performed solo and as a chamber musician with such ensembles as the Abel Quartet all over Europe and Asia. The Abel Quartet is a member of the Kuhmo Chamber Music's Quartet Academy.
