Taija Angervo

Taija Angervo is a Finnish violinist with diverse interests: chamber music, orchestral music and solo performance. She has been Deputy Concertmaster with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra since 2001 and has played in the New Helsinki Quartet for 17 years. Angervo was a pupil of the Kuhmo Violin School in the 1980s and 1990s and has been a member of the Virtuosi di Kuhmo chamber orchestra for many years. She gained her diploma in the violin at the Sibelius Academy, where she studied with Mi-Kyung Lee. She also went on to study at the Cologne University of Music under Mihaela Martin. Taija Angervo plays a Goffredo Cappa violin dating back to the late 1600s.
