Intermission

In Norwegian folklore, a creature named Fossegrimen lives in the lake and stands under
waterfalls playing the harp and the hardanger fiddle, making all living creatures dance to
his tune. Legend has it that if you steal a smoked mutton from your neighbour four Thursdays
in a row and offer it to Fossegrimen, he might just teach you the secrets of the hardanger
fiddle...

Raging mother

"Raging Mother" is Hanna Vahtikari’s painfully honest, bittersweet play revealing the
many different sides of motherhood: the uncontrollable routines, the extreme humour, the
pent-up aggression, and the boundless love shining through it all. On stage with Vahtikari
is composer and performer Marzi Nyman, who is responsible for the play’s music. The performance is in Finnish.

Marzi Nyman (1979—):
