Kuhmo Chamber Music is committed to sustainable development and responsible actions.
Kuhmo Chamber Music is developing its own version of environmental friendliness using the EcoCompass environmental management system. The Festival is committed to Finland’s objective to make the country carbon-neutral by 2035. Environmental friendliness entails to use of environmentally-friendly energy, cutting volumes of waste, more effective sorting of waste, responsible procurement and material efficiency. Logistics and mobility stress the importance of ecological issues. Communications on responsible activity and development work are managed both internally and externally. The aim too is to get partners involved in future ventures.
In December 2022 the Festival got the Sustainable Travel Finland Label from Visit Finland. The label is only awarded for those companies and destinations that have undergone the entire Sustainable Travel Finland programme and fullfilled the criteria. The programme includes regular auditing and renewal of the label. The label is a definite symbol of commitment towards sustainable practises and principles.
