Adrian Ibañez-Resjan

Adrian Ibañez-Resjan was born in Turku in 1997 into a musical family of Russian-Spanish stock. He was only three years old when he started violin lessons with his grandfather, Araik Resjan. Adrian is also a student at the Sibelius Academy (Youth Academy), a pupil of Réka Szilvay. He has also been in masterclasses led by Ana Chumachenko, Elina Vähälä, Zakhar Bron, Alexander Vinnitski and Kaija Saarikettu. Ibañez-Resjan has been performing since he was four years old, and has also played as soloist with orchestra. He won a special prize - ’promising violinist’ – at the Oistrakh Competition in Moscow in 2006 and second prize in the international violin competition held in Bucharest in 2007. Ibañez-Resjan was winner of the Jyväskylä Violin Competition Category A 2009 and Category B 2012. He also won first prize in the international Grand Prize Virtuoso Competition in 2015. Ibañez-Resjan is also very involved in performances of chamber and orchestral music. Ibañez-Resjan is in the Young Chamber Musicians programme.
