Christoph König

Christoph König is currently conductor and Artistic Director of Luxembourg’s Solistes Européens. Before that he was principal conductor of the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música. König has also been guest conductor with the Staatskapelle Dresden, Orchestre de Paris, London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Danish National Symphony, Netherlands Philharmonic, Norwegian Radio Orchestra, Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, Tampere Philharmonic, and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. He has also conducted in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and North America. König has conducted opera in Zurich, Madrid, Stuttgart, Berlin and Bonn. He has also recorded with several orchestras. Born in Dresden, König sang in the Dresdner Kreuzchor boys’ choir and studied conducting, the piano and singing at the Dresdner Musikhochschule. He furthermore attended masterclasses taught by Sergiu Celibidache and Sir Colin Davis, whose assistant he once was. Artist's/Ensemble's own website
