Florin Szigeti

Over a career spanning more than 30 years, Florin Szigeti, violinist with the Enescu Quartet, has performed as recitalist and soloist with orchestras on countless occasions. He has also been leader of numerous orchestras. He has played string quartet music at more than 2,000 of the world’s best-known concert halls and festivals. He studied at the Bucharest Conservatory and later settled in Paris with the rest of the Enescu Quartet in 1979. He has taught at the Sorbonne for over 20 years and is leader of the Sorbonne Symphony Orchestra. Szigeti is a highly esteemed teacher who gives masterclasses and has appeared on the juries of many international competitions in France, Belgium, Germany, Spain and Finland. He now divides this time between playing with the Enescus and teaching at the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris, where he is a professor, and at the Conservatoire de Paris.
