Henri Sigfridsson

Henri Sigfridsson’s career has taken him to concert venues mainly in central Europe and Asia. He has performed as soloist with many major European orchestras, including the Zürich Tonhalle Orchestra and the Berlin Konzerthaus Orchestra, and has worked with such figures as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Leif Segerstam, Sakari Oramo, and Dennis Russel Davies. Sigfridsson has been successful in competitions, including the Maria Callas Grand Prix competition in Athens 2004, in which he came second, and the Beethoven Competition Bonn in 2005, which he won. He had already won the Liszt Piano Competition in Weimar. The year before last he took up a post as Professor of Piano at the acclaimed Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. He continues to be visiting professor at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin and is also Artistic Director of the Korsholm Music Festival.
