Irina Stachinskaya

Irina Stachinskaya was born in 1989 into a musical family in Moscow. In 2010 she graduated from the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, where she had studied with Vladimir Kudrya. In 2017 she gained her diploma at the Paris École normale de musique ‘Alfred Cortot’. Stachinskaya played with a symphony orchestra for the first time when she was just 14, and when she was 17 she was selected as co-principal flute with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra. Stachinskaya has seen success in competitions, both as a chamber musician and soloist and in 2010 was awarded the Rising Star prize at the Galway Flute Festival in Weggis, Switzerland. Irina Stachinskaya also appears as soloist with orchestra, and since 2014 has toured Japan and South Korea every year giving concerts. She also teaches on masterclasses at the conservatories in Cannes and Nice, as well as in Japan and Russia. In 2016 the recording company Melodiya released her first solo album.
