Jozef Lupták

Slovak cellist, Jozef Lupták, graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and the Royal Academy of Music in London. In Slovakia he was awarded a prize by the Ministry of Culture in recognition of his artistry as a cellist and as Artistic Director of the Konvergencie Chamber Music Festival, which he founded. More recent career highlights include a tour of New Zealand, concerts with the Fine Arts Quartet in the United States, a performance as soloist and conductor with the City of Granada Orchestra, and concerts as soloist with the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra and Slovak Philharmonic. Lupták has collaborated with many of today’s most celebrated conductors and chamber musicians, and is interested in music across genres. He has worked closely with many contemporary composers, resulting in first performances and recordings. Jozef Lupták lives in Bratislava with his wife, who is an architect, and their three children.
