Kyeong Ham

Oboist Kyeong Ham, who is from Seoul, has seen success in many international competitions, including the ARD Competition Munich in 2017, the Carl Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition in Copenhagen in 2015, the Muri oboe competition in Switzerland in 2013, the International Oboe and Bassoon Competition in Lódz, Poland in 2011, the Tchaikovsky Conservatory International Winds and Percussion Competition in Moscow in 2010, and the Richard Lauschmann International Oboe Competition in Mannheim in 2009. He studied under Nicholas Daniel in Trossingen and Dominik Wollenweber in Berlin. At the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic he was taught by Jonathan Kelly. Kyeong Ham has been principal oboist with several leading European orchestras, such as the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Budapest Festival Orchestra, Berlin Philharmonic and Konzerthausorchester Berlin. He has also been principal oboe with the Staatsoper Hannover and principal second oboe with Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw Orchestra. Kyeong Ham is currently principal oboe with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and teaches at the Sibelius Academy.
