Laura Linkola

After an eventful period of study, Laura Linkola has just graduated with a master’s degree from the Sibelius Academy. Her main subject was the kantele. Her final years studying were spent in Switzerland, first in Geneva in the area of early music and then in Lausanne, where she studied conducting. Linkola is happiest playing at concerts back home and in small halls, where contact with the audience is easier and the music makes it possible to develop personal relationships. Solo music on the kantele usually means Bach and modern music, while with the orchestral repertoire everything else between will do nicely. If her busy schedule allows, she always says yes to orchestral productions, where she is able to play another of her instruments, the double bass.
