Mi-Sa Yang

Mi-Sa Yang has her roots in South Korea but was born and grew up in Osaka, Japan. She studied violin and chamber music at the Paris Conservatory. She came first in the Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists in 2000 and third in the Sendai International Music Competition in 2001. She also came first as a member of a piano trio at the International Maria Canals Competition in Barcelona in 2009. She first played as soloist when she was 12 and afterwards performed with the Suk Chamber Orchestra, London Mozart Players and several Japanese symphony orchestras. She is a member of Trio Les Esprits, which she co-founded, and the Ardeo String Quartet. With the former, Yang has made several well received recordings and in spring 2019 she released a disc of Mozart’s sonatas with pianist Jonas Vitaud.
