Olivier Darbellay

Olivier Darbellay was born into a musical family in Berne, where he studied cello at the Conservatory as a pupil of Patrick Demenga and Peter Hörr and French horn under Thomas Müller, in both Berne and Basel. Darbellay graduated with distinction in Freiburg under Bruno Schneider. In 2000 he won the competition for young soloists held in Lisbon and he won the soloist of the year 2000 prize in the Communauté des Radios publiques de langue françaises in 1999.
