Razvan Popovici

Born into a musical family, violist Razvan Popovici is founder and Artistic Director of the Chiemgauer Musikfrühlinging Festival in Germany and the SoNoRo Festival in Bucharest, Romania, the city he hails from. But he also tours the world as a member of Ensemble Raro. A solo player and chamber musician, he has appeared in many prestigious concert halls, including the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, London’s Wigmore Hall, the Musashino Hall in Tokyo, the Konzerthaus and Musikverein in Vienna and Carnegie Hall in New York. His partners in music include Natalia Gutman, Konstantin Lifschitz, Alexander Lonquich, Radovan Vlatkovic, Daishin Kashimoto, Gilles Apap and Juliane Banse, with whom he has played, for example, at the Lucerne Festival, the Wiener Festwochen, and the music festivals in Rheingau and Spoleto.
