Romina Basso

Romina Basso was born in Gorizia, Italy, and studied singing at the Beneditto Marcello Conservatory in Venice and Italian literature at the University of Trieste. She is a specialist in the Baroque repertoire and has performed around Europe, the USA, Asia and Australia. Romina Basso collaborates with many major conductors and ensembles that are specialised in ancient music. They include Les Arts Florissants, Les Musiciens de Louvre, the King's Consort, Modo antiquo, Accademia Bizantina, Concert des Nations, Europa Galante, Rome’s Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, and the conductors Vladimir Jurowski, Marc Minkowski, Jordi Savall and William Christie. Basso appears on recordings by several record companies, such as Deutsche Grammophon, Naïve, EMI, Sony and Decca, which feature both solo repertoire and larger productions.
