Saara Kiiveri

Soprano Saara Kiiveri graduated from the Sibelius Academy in 2016. Her teacher had been Monica Groop, but she then went on to study under Ritva-Liisa Korhonen, Anu Komsi and Ilmo Ranta. At the Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences Kiiveri studied with Seppo Ruohonen and at college in Oulu with Airi Tokola. She has also attended masterclasses taught by Edda Moser, Olga Mykytenko, Peter Berne, Johanna Rusanen-Kartano, Jaakko Ryhänen and Soile Isokoski. She has sung roles in operas by Mozart, Rossini and Ravel, and in premieres of works by Kalevi Aho and Riikka Talvitie. In autumn 2017 Kiiveri made her debut at the Finnish National Opera in Mozart’s Magic Flute, and has appeared there in operas for children and young people. She has also performed as soloist with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and the Ylioppilaskunnan Soittajat (Helsinki University Symphony Orchestra). Saara Kiiveri took second prize in the Kangasniemi Singing Competition in 2015.
