Sophie Klußmann’s warm, wide-ranging and dark-hued voice is to be heard in recitals of Baroque and contemporary music as well as on the orchestral concert stage and in opera. Recent career highlights have included a world tour with Martin Haselböck and the Orchester Wiener Akademie and a collaboration with the Scharoun Ensemble and pianist Oliver Triendl. Klußmann has worked with a number of conductors, such as Marek Janowski, Ingo Metzmacher and Helmuth Rilling, and has appeared at major venues across in Europe, from Berlin to Paris. Klußmann’s teachers include Thomas Quasthoff, Dunja Vejzovic, Margreet Honig and Klesie Kelly-Moog. In the period 2009–2011 she was employed with the Halle Opera and in 2013 she stood in for Anna Netrebkoa at the Baden-Baden Festival. Klußmann has also collaborated in the theatre with actor John Malkovich. Her solo disc of songs by Karl Weigl came out in 2015. Artist's/Ensemble's own website
