Vanessa Szigeti
Born into a family of musicians, Vanessa Szigeti began studying the violin with her father, Florin Szigeti, a member of the Enesco Quartet. She continued her studies with Constantin Bogdanas and Larissa Kolos and at the Paris Conservatoire under Olivier Charlier. Other teachers have included Jean-Jacques Kantorow and Svetlin Roussev as well as Pavel Vernikov at the Vienna Conservatory. Szigeti has taken part in masterclasses led by Ana Chumachenko, Mauricio Fuks, Ida Haendel, Boris Kuschnir, Paul Rosenthal, Hagai Shaham, and David Takeno. She was taught chamber music by Vladimir Mendelssohn, Peter Csaba and Hatto Beyerle. Szigeti has won prizes in several competitions and has appeared at the Musikverein in Vienna, London’s Wigmore Hall, Madrid’s Auditorio Nacional and at numerous festivals. She has performed a good deal of modern music and teaches in masterclasses in many countries in Europe.
