Dana Zemtsov

Dana Zemtsov was born in Mexico City in 1992 and started her musical studies when she was five. Her teachers were her grandmother and her parents, both viola players themselves. Her studies continued under Michael Kugel. Zemtsov is the winner of many competitions – in Luxembourg, Italy, Austria, Germany, Portugal and the Netherlands, and she represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Young Musicians Competition in Vienna in 2010. She was also awarded the Kersjes Prize, which is given every year in Holland to an outstanding young string player. She has played as soloist with the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, Holland Symfonia, Sinfonia Rotterdam, Ferruccio Busoni Chamber Orchestra and Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. Recent concert season highlights include a performance of Bartók's Viola Concerto at Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, playing chamber music with Janine Jansen and Martin Fröst, and a recital in Carnegie Hall, New York.
