 Ensemble Åtta

Ensemble Åtta

Ensemble Åtta is a new, modern vocal group whose roots are very much in the Swedish and Nordic choral tradition. Formed in 2017, Ensemble Åtta sets out to make top quality music, mixing beauty and poignancy with both a sense of fun and precision. As an independent group, Ensemble Åtta can choose to perform anything it is passionate about. The ensemble often gives renditions of works composed for large forces, where it possible to emphasise the music's playfulness as well as the small detail. Its members have long experience of the Swedish Radio Choir, who have set themselves the challenge of discovering new means of expression in chamber music for small ensembles, giving each singer and voice more scope and responsibility for the shape of the music. Their extensive experience with the Swedish Radio Choir has resulted in an immense knowledge of the repertoire, first-rate musical skills and their sheer drive. All the ensemble's singers also sing solo parts both in Sweden and abroad.
