Jonathan Nikkinen

Jonathan Nikkinen studied the French horn at the Hyvinkää Music Institute in southern Finland and at the Sibelius Academy under such teachers as Tero Toivonen, Erja Joukamo-Ampuja and Jukka Harju. From 2016–2017 he joined an exchange programme with the University of Barcelona, where he was a pupil of Professor José Vicente Castelló. Nikkinen has played in the Tapiola Sinfonietta, the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Helsinki Philharmonic, Avanti! and Orkester Norden, and he performed as a soloist in the RSP Young Soloists concerts in 2013. Nikkinen also plays chamber music, frequently and across genres. The wind quintet Helmikvintet and Santeri Halme & Auringonlaskun ratsastajat light orchestra are the ensembles he regularly plays with.
