Ossi Tanner, born in 1997, is studying at the Sibelius Academy under Professor Erik T. Tawaststjerna. His teachers have also been Junio Kimanen and Konstantin Bogino. In 2013 Tanner was selected for the Youth Piano Academy Finland. He won the Leevi Madetoja Piano Competition in 2015 and took a special prize in the Jyväskylä Piano Competition in 2014. He has performed as soloist with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Oulu Symphony Orchestra and the Central Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra. He has played at several Finnish music festivals and in 2017 is Young Artist of the Hauho Music Festival, for which he has received a scholarship. Tanner has also taken part in masterclasses led by Soile Isokoski, Eero Heinonen, Paavali Jumppanen, Matti Raekallio, Henri Sigfridsson and Antti Siirala. He has had tuition in chamber music from such individuals as Paavo Pohjola, Teemu Kupiainen, Martti Rautio, Antti Tikkanen and Marko Ylönen.
