Tero Toivonen

Tero Toivonen has been playing with the Tapiola Sinfonietta for more than 20 years. He got a black T-shirt from the chamber ensemble Avanti! as a sort of long-term loan and he still puts it on about once a month. Having graduated with a master’s degree in 2003, Toivonen was not yet ready to give up all the benefits of being a student, and decided to do a doctorate at the Sibelius Academy. He got one in 2014. In 2016, in addition to orchestral work, Toivonen took up an important post as part-time lecturer in the French horn at the Sibelius Academy. His great love of pop, rock and heavy metal is reflected in his audio collection featuring Finnish artists, including Kemopetrol.
