Adrian Ibañez-Resjan was born in Turku in 1997 into a musical family of Russian-Spanish stock. He was only three years old when he started violin lessons with his grandfather, Araik Resjan, who still teaches him at the Helsinki Conservatory of Music. Adrian is also a student at the Sibelius Academy (Youth Academy), a pupil of Réka Szilvay. He has also been in masterclasses led by Ana Chumachenko, Elina Vähälä, Zakhar Bron, Alexander Vinnitski and Kaija Saarikettu. Ibañez-Resjan has been performing since he was four years old, and has also played as soloist with orchestra. He won a special prize - 'promising violinist' – at the Oistrakh Competition in Moscow in 2006 and second prize in the international violin competition held in Bucharest in 2007. Ibañez-Resjan was winner of the Jyväskylä Violin Competition Category A 2009 and Category B 2012. He also won first prize in the international Grand Prize Virtuoso Competition in 2015. Ibañez-Resjan is also very involved in performances of chamber and orchestral music.
