Soprano Saara Kiiveri graduated from the Sibelius Academy in 2016. Her teacher had been Monica Groop, but she then went on to study under Ritva-Liisa Korhonen, Anu Komsi and Ilmo Ranta. At the Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences Kiiveri studied with Seppo Ruohonen and at college in Oulu with Airi Tokola. She has also attended masterclasses taught by Edda Moser, Olga Mykytenko, Peter Berne, Jaakko Ryhänen and Soile Isokoski. Kiiveri's greatest passion is opera, though she also enjoys singing Lieder and chamber music. She has sung roles in operas by Mozart, Rossini and Ravel, and in premieres of works by Kalevi Aho and Riikka Talvitie. Since spring 2016 she has appeared in art events for toddlers at the Finnish National Opera. She has also appeared as soloist with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and the Ylioppilaskunnan Soittajat (Helsinki University Symphony Orchestra). Saara Kiiveri took second prize in the Kangasniemi Singing Competition in 2015.
