The Seele Quartet started in 2015. They are a group of young players from the Sibelius Academy who have been praised as soloists too. At the Academy they have received guidance from Paavo Pohjola, Teemu Kupiainen and Atte Kilpeläinen. They have been in masterclasses run by Marko Ylönen, Meta4 and the legendary Borodin Quartet violinist Mikhail Kopelman, among others. In competitions the Seele Quartet has come first in the National Erkki Melartin Chamber Music Competition (2016) and second in the Rising Stars Grand Prix – International Music Competition Berlin (2017). In 2018 they were awarded the Rondo Classic Tempo prize in the category Ensemble of the Year. The quartet has performed around Finland, and in Estonia and the UK. They have also played at the Hauho Music festival, Kamari21 and Klassinen Hietsu. The Seeles are also quartet-in-residence at the Kauniainen Music Festival and a guest member of the Kuhmo Chamber Music's Quartet Academy.
