Siljamari Heikinheimo

Siljamari Heikinheimo is a frequent player of chamber music, but also very often gives recitals. From 2012 to 2016 she played with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. She has also been concertmaster and section leader with the orchestra of the Royal Danish Opera, the Helsinki Philharmonic, the Lapland Chamber Orchestra, the Danish National Chamber Orchestra and the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra. Heikinheimo frequently plays at music festivals and with Avanti!, the Jousia Ensemble and Virtuosi di Kuhmo. She is Artistic Designer of the Finnish National Library's Soivat kirjat ('musical books) concert series and performs in children's concerts with pianist Salla Karakorvi. Heikinheimo started learning the violin at the Espoo Music Institute, studied at the Edsberg Music Institute with Ulf Wallin, and graduated from the Sibelius Academy in 2011, where her teacher was Petri Aarnio. Important teachers in masterclasses have included Mi-Kyung Lee, Pavel Vernikov, Antti Tikkanen, Hagai Shaham, Ferenc Rados and Ralf Gothóni.
