Siljamari Heikinheimo

Siljamari Heikinheimo is a frequent player of chamber music, but also very often gives recitals. A need to expand her artistic endeavours led her to direct opera too, and she is also Artistic Designer of the Finnish National Library's Soivat kirjat ('musical books') concert series. She is a regular guest at many music festivals and she also often plays with ensembles such as Avanti!, the Jousia Ensemble and Virtuosi di Kuhmo. From 2012 to 2016 she played with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. She is currently guest concertmaster and section leader with various orchestras in the Nordic countries, such as the Helsinki Philharmonic, Tapiola Sinfonietta, Danish National Chamber Orchestra and Trondheim Symphony Orchestra. Heikinheimo has worked at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf opera company and at Komische Oper Berlin. She has also been assistant director at the Finnish National Opera. Her various alma maters are the Espoo Music Institute, Edsberg Music Institute and Sibelius Academy.
